The mission of the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center is to protect and save the lives of abused and neglected children by supplementing zealous legal advocacy with innovative programs and public policy reform.
“Colorado's child-welfare system is in crisis. . . . Money is tight, granted. Yet if we can't meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable among us, each of us should be more than ashamed of ourselves“, said Shari F. Shink, Founder and Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center, in Johnson Colorado's number of shame 179 kids killed from abuse, neglect over seven years, Bill Johnson, Denver Post January 2010.
One Hundred and Seventy Nine, the tragic number of children in Colorado killed as a result of abuse and neglect between 2000 and 2007. Moreover, it was recently reported that 35 children have died since 2007 after having been removed from their abusive homes and placed in Colorado’s Child Protection System. The Children’s Law Center believes that we can do better. The best way to share this fact is to view or read any one of the Children’s Law Center’s success stories.
