The time to insist upon the establishment of an Independent Children’s Ombudsman is now, and public support is crucial in insisting that this office becomes a reality.

There have been myriad meetings, negotiations, compromises, disappointments and occasional triumphs in crafting this bill. The Children's Law Center's efforts have been focused on creating an office that responds to the unmet needs of children, adds transparency and accountability, and improves public confidence in Colorado's child welfare system.

Tomorrow, February, 25 at 11:45 am a press conference will be held in the west foyer of the state capitol to announce a bill that will create a Children’s Ombudsman. Join me tomorrow.
