Sam

Sam

Sam has been through more in his short life than most of us will endure in a lifetime. At the tender age of eight he was removed from his neglectful birth mother and placed in a treatment facility. Sam stayed there for three years while social services unsuccessfully worked to rehabilitate his mother and reunite the family. Like many abused children who don’t get the therapy they need, Sam developed severe behavioral problems and social services deemed him unadoptable.

The Children’s Law Center refused to give up on him that easily. His attorneys worked to terminate his mother’s parental rights and ensured Sam worked through his behavioral problems at the treatment center. When he was ready to be part of a family again, Sam moved in with his adoptive parents. Because of the love of his adoptive family, he is thriving, doing well in school, helps care for his disabled brother and is a polite young man with a bright future ahead of him.
